In Marshfield, an active arts community produces year-round community theater productions. Recreation is also valued as can be seen in several nice parks and a small zoo that is free to the community. The city’s newest park was recently donated by a former physician, and boasts 20 acres of walking trails, sand volleyball courts, adjustable basketball hoops and more.

The city hosts several major festivals per year, including Hub City Days, to celebrate Marshfield’s historic downtown district. Other major events include Dairy Fest to celebrate the dairy industry during Dairy Month in June and Maple Fall Fest in September which celebrates things like Amish goods, potato pancakes, a beer garden and all things maple. On Labor Day Weekend, Marshfield hosts a Central Wisconsin State Fair.

The Marshfield School District is comprised of five elementary schools, one junior high school, one alternative high school, and one high school. Marshfield High School exceeded the state’s expectations in the last scores available for testing with the Wisconsin Department of Instruction. For higher education opportunities, there is Mid-State Technical College or University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County.

While maintaining the integrity of the historic feel the heart of Main Street, Marshfield has embarked upon much modern development with easy to spot new restaurants and buildings such as the new library.
